Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that affects the blood vessels in the retina, leading to vision impairment or blindness if not properly managed.
Symptoms
Blurred or fluctuating vision, dark spots or floaters, impaired colour vision, and vision loss in severe cases.
Treatment
Treatment includes blood sugar control, laser therapy, medication injections, and, in advanced cases, surgery to prevent or slow down the progression of the disease.
