Floaters

Dr Cathy Gray Eye Specialist treats Floaters in Johannesburg

Floaters are tiny specks, spots, or cobweb-like shapes that drift across the field of vision.  They are most noticeable when looking at a bright, plain, background.

Symptoms

Floaters appear as small, dark shapes moving in the visual field and can be distracting or annoying.

Treatment

In most cases, floaters do not require treatment as they tend to settle below the line of sight.  However, if they are a new symptom and/or if flashes of light accompany them, further evaluation is necessary.
